Tours and Information

UNC Charlotte Campus Tours

For general tours of the UNC Charlotte campus, contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with daily campus tours available. Tours are also available on select Saturday mornings. Each tour consists of a tram tour or a walking tour of campus led by student tour guides and an information session.  All tours depart from the lobby of the Admissions Office, First Floor, Cato Hall. The Admissions Office is also closed on and around various holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. 

Reservations are required for campus tours and should be made on the Admissions website by logging in to Future 49er Web.

LEE College of Engineering VISITS

The College of Engineering conducts nformation sessions for prospective students and families about the great educational opportunities offered through its many different bachelor’s programs, and a representative will be on hand to answer questions about admissions, major selection, and new initiatives within the college. Information sessions are held at 1:00pm on most Mondays. See the College of Engineering's Information Session page for more details.

UNC Charlotte Motorsports Tours

For a more in-depth tour and specific information about the Motorsports Engineering program, a motorsports alumnus who is now a NASCAR engine engineer for Hendrick Motorsports is available to meet with prospective students and their families. His insights from having completed the program and his experience working in the racing industry provide valuable information for any interested student. Email reservations for a tour are required at least a week in advance. Tours are the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Alan Kulwicki Lab. Please email Dr. Uddin he will coordinate the tour. You may also request a tour of the overall Mechanical Engineering Department (which will also include Motorsports) by contacting the Mechanical Engineering Department. 

When looking on the UNC Charlotte campus map, the Motorsports Engineering program is located in the Alan Kulwicki Lab (building 62 on map) and the Motorsports Research Building (building 75 on map).
